This marks a milestone for Magic Baits — the revival of a legacy built by my late father, Dudley “The Poet” Cato, and preserved in the handwritten pages of his legendary black book.

A book filled with old-school thinking, secret blends, timeless notes and proven flavour combinations that shaped the way generations of anglers approached their craft. For decades, these recipes remained private… a family treasure passed down with pride.

Dudley Cato was well known not only for his angling mastery, but also for the colourful phrases he loved to share on the bank. Anyone who ever fished with him will remember that unmistakable way he ended almost every saying — “ForSure.”
