My Outcast Club Competition Win at Tierpoortdam

I took part in the Outcast Club Competition at Tierpoortdam (Pannie se Plek) on the 1st of November 2025, right after a weekend of steady rain.

The ground was wet and slippery when we arrived, but everyone’s spirits were high. The morning started off cheerful with a light breeze, and although the wind picked up a bit later, it turned into a beautiful sunny day — perfect for fishing.

I decided to fish one rod at 85 meters and left the other to free-spool. The 85 m spot produced non-stop action — the carp and yellowfish were feeding eagerly! I landed 24 carp and 2 yellowfish there, while my free-spool setup with Slangwurms kept the barbel coming — 12 in total. It was a busy and exciting day from start to finish.

I prepared my feed with BGA Feed Booster, and used Wizard Quick Set #2 hooks with a plain white sweet dough backing — a combination that delivered fish after fish all day long.

By the end of the session, I had caught 38 fish in total — 24 carp, 12 barbel, and 2 yellowfish, with a bag weight of 36.608 kg.

I was thrilled to finish as the overall first-place winner! 🏆
