What a day it turned out to be!
Saturday’s club comp here in Perth, WA had everything lined up perfectly — a soft spring breeze, warm water, and that kind of stillness that just feels fishy. I decided it was the perfect time to bring out the Magic Baits Black Magic Dip.
From the very first cast, I knew something special was happening. The bite rate was insane — non-stop from early morning right through to lunch. Every drop in the water felt alive. Carp after carp moved in, and before long my keepnet was bulging.
I smashed my personal best with a total bag of 57 kg of carp! The Black Magic Dip gave me confidence every single cast — that deep, sweet molasses scent just hung in the water and pulled the fish in like magnets.
Henko landed a stunning golden koi, and I managed to add a big fantail koi to the mix — a real beauty. Between us, the action never slowed down.
I’ve tried plenty of dips over the years, but this one’s on another level. It clings beautifully to the bait, holds scent through multiple casts, and seems tailor-made for our spring conditions here in Perth.
