Rise of the Dark Knight
When you’re out on the water, confidence in your bait makes all the difference. That’s why we created Magic Baits Dark Knight — a sweetened flavour built on a rich Caramelized Onion Concentrate.

Bold, savoury, and unique, this flavour delivers a deep attraction profile that keeps fish feeding in all conditions.

A Flavour Built for All Conditions
Dark Knight blends the natural sweetness of caramelization with the strong, savoury kick of onion. The result is a flavour that offers both instant pulling power and a long-lasting presence in the water, performing equally well in icy winter rivers or warm summer dams.
This balance of sweet and savoury gives anglers a dependable option when looking to stand out from the crowd.

Versatility at Its Core
Like all Magic Baits products, Dark Knight was developed with versatility in mind. Whether you’re chasing results in competitive sessions or targeting carp in social waters, this flavour adapts to every situation. Its rich, layered profile pairs beautifully with both fruity and spicy flavours, giving you flexibility in your combinations.

How to approach a venue that has clear water
Michael Cato
Several years ago, my friend and I fished at a private dam on a farm located between Ermelo and Middelburg. Initially, we faced a few blank sessions due to the clear water.

However, during our next visit, we decided to switch to hookbaits with more natural colors and used colorless boldips.

We opted for soft floaties since they do not leak like bleeding floaties. Our observation was that the bleeding effect in clear water seemed to make the fish cautious about our baits. Thus, we avoided bright colors like yellow or pink. Our selections for hookbaits included:

1) Dark Knight Soft Floaties – a brown bait that could camouflage with the dam’s rocky bottom.
2) Carma Soft Floaties – a light cream/sandy bait that blended in seamlessly with the dam floor.
3) Stinkgogga Soft Floaties – a green bait that matched the vegetation in the dam.
For boldips, we chose:
1) Oukous Boldip – a clear boldip.
2) Carma Boldip – another clear boldip.
The results were incredible! The combination of natural-colored hookbaits and clear boldips led to a flurry of reel runs, turning our previous blanks into a remarkably successful outing where we caught over 20 fish between us. Fishing is often more than just casting out a bait; understanding the behavior of your bait in the water can make all the difference between a blank session and one filled with catches.
