Behind the Name
Back in 2017, Bennie Viviers asked Magic Baits owner, Michael Cato, to create something completely new for the South African angling scene — a Turkish Delight flavour.
Instead of importing it from overseas, Michael decided to build the flavour himself. He blended different fruit mixes with a rose concentrate, and believe it or not, the first test sample worked perfectly. Carp loved it immediately.
That very first batch became what we now know as Baas Ben, named after Bennie’s nickname. And from there, it’s been changing the game ever since.

I’m not really sure what to say in this post about BAAS BEN that I haven’t said before or what to actually put in this post as the proof has been posted so many times before, the truth has been seen so many times before and the truth is BAAS BEN works brilliantly.
About almost 2 years ago I put 3 tiger nuts in a bottle of BAAS BEN while helping one of my brothers ( Henry Briel ) at a specimen Bonanza hosted in one of our local waters. I put that bottle at the back of my bait cupboard and forgot about it for about a year lol. I’ve used those 3 tigers and am now left with none. Each of those tigers caught fish, sometimes 5 or 6 on 1 tiger reused.
The point I’m trying to make is that it works, nothing more, nothing less. Even when using it in a style of angling it wast designed for to start with, it works. It just works so if you don’t have it then get it because it’s the 1 flavor that works everywhere in any conditions all the time.
