Magic Baits Vampire Candy Soft Floaties

Alltough hard floaties is the natural form of floaties, anglers like to experiment and experimenting with floaties was a natural next step for the Magic Baits Team and the soft floatie was developed.

As mentioned before the hard floaties are only colored and flavored on the outside. The flavor stays only temporarily on the bait and is washed off quite effortlessly once it is in the water.

The Magic Baits Team developed a process to manufacture a soft floatie that is colored and flavored all the way to the centre of the bait.

Unlike the hard floatie that tends to break if not hooked properly, the new soft floatie is very easy to hook and does not break so easily.

The new soft floatie has higher leakage properties due to it being more porous which allows for the extra flavor to leak for an extended period.

An increasing number of anglers are changing over to soft floaties.

The Magic Baits Team takes great
care to ensure the  highest standard of
manufacturing goes hand in hand with
attention to produce goal orientated
products.

My Favorite fishing place to be is next to the Vaalriver. There is just something trilling about knowing that with every run it could a big carp.

My all time Favorite bait for the Vaalriver is
Spookasem Soft Floaties.

I bait them up in different ways, one on a hook or sometimes two per hook.

At times I love to add a Spookasem Chooby backing or a plain white Instant dough backing.

Half of the ball I cover with Spookasem Boldip and the other half with Swiss Boldip.

And to round it off, a good quantity of Dcx Boldip on top of these two.

I recon that at least 80% of my bigger carp was caught on this bait application.

Fanie Oosthuizen confirms that this combination operates exceptionally well within the Vaalriver system.

I will in future make sure to add English video clip🙈

Understanding your Product

Understanding your product is crucial, as it enhances your fishing experience with MaGic Baits, where the enchantment endures.

Let’s delve into the differences between Soft Floaties and Bleeding Floaties. Soft Floaties are designed without any powder on their exterior, making them perfect for fishing in clear water environments, where a Bleeding Floatie might appear unnatural to fish.

On the other hand, Bleeding Floaties are coated with layers of powder that release color, making them ideal for murky water conditions.

Choose wisely based on your fishing venue!

Get your GAG to BRAG …! November 2022

In the early summer of 2022, our competitive anglers had been requesting a new flavor specifically aimed at targeting muddies.

We were unaware at that time that this innovative development would not only excel at attracting muddies but would also be favored by carp and catfish.

To create this enticing blend, we sourced two unique cheese concentrates from a reputable supplier and combined them with a new base.

The result was an incredibly pungent odor that nearly caused nausea. Thus, we named it GAG.

Years later, GAG has become a household name among anglers targeting muddies, carp, and catfish. Michael Cato, our developer, coined the slogan for the product during its early stages:

“GET YOUR GAG, to BRAG”

“GET YOUR GAG, to BRAG”

How to approach a venue that has clear water

💦 Several years ago, my friend and I fished at a private dam on a farm located between Ermelo and Middelburg. Initially, we faced a few blank sessions due to the clear water. However, during our next visit, we decided to switch to hookbaits with more natural colors and used colorless boldips.

We opted for soft floaties since they do not leak like bleeding floaties. Our observation was that the bleeding effect in clear water seemed to make the fish cautious about our baits. Thus, we avoided bright colors like yellow or pink. Our selections for hookbaits included:

1) Dark Knight Soft Floaties – a brown bait that could camouflage with the dam’s rocky bottom.
2) Carma Soft Floaties – a light cream/sandy bait that blended in seamlessly with the dam floor.
3) Stinkgogga Soft Floaties – a green bait that matched the vegetation in the dam.

For boldips, we chose:
1) Oukous Boldip – a clear boldip.
2) Carma Boldip – another clear boldip.

The results were incredible! The combination of natural-colored hookbaits and clear boldips led to a flurry of reel runs, turning our previous blanks into a remarkably successful outing where we caught over 20 fish between us. Fishing is often more than just casting out a bait; understanding the behavior of your bait in the water can make all the difference between a blank session and one filled with catches.

Magic Baits Boorgat Floaties and Custard Chooby

Fishing is not solely defined by the thrill of reeling in a record-breaking catch. In fact, for many anglers, the true essence of fishing lies in the joy of the experience itself. Whether it’s the serenity of a misty morning on the water, the laughter shared with friends as they recount old fishing tales, or the awe-inspiring beauty of nature that surrounds them, these moments form the core of what makes fishing so special.

It’s these snapshots that capture not just the fish but the stories and memories created with every cast of the line, weaving together a tapestry of nostalgia and joy that lasts a lifetime.

Baas Ben, Floaties, launched June 2018

In 2017, Bennie Viviers approached owner Michael Cato with a unique request: to create a never-before-seen flavor for the South African Angling industry—a Turkish Delight.

Rather than sourcing this flavor from international flavor houses, Michael opted to take on the challenge himself.

He meticulously crafted a Turkish Delight flavor by skillfully blending various fruit mixes with a rose concentrate.

Fortune smiled upon him, as the initial test sample was immediately successful, eliminating the need for a second round of testing.

The product swiftly moved into production. The name reflects its origin, inspired by Bennie Viviers’ nickname, Baas Ben, which ultimately became the product’s title: Baas Ben.

Stinkgogga Flavour – Fish Oil & Garlic, May 2013

Stinkgogga Floatie

Written by Michael Cato

Before diving into the details of the MaGic Baits Stinkgogga Floatie, let me first share the intriguing tale of the Stinkgogga Boldip. All recipes for our products are personally mixed and prepared by me, ensuring that you receive a quality product with every batch. Once the mixture is complete, our staff assists by pouring the liquid into the boldip bottles.

One day, while we were busy filling a batch of BVX (Butter Vanilla) Boldip, my wife,  remarked that she caught a whiff of a ‘stinkgogga’. Laughter erupted in the factory as everyone struggled to comprehend how Butter Vanilla could emit such a scent. However, both my wife and Willie, one of our colleagues, recognized the potential of ‘stinkgogga’ as a new product name. My wife suggested a concoction of garlic and fish oils, coupled with a British army green color. My initial response was skepticism; after all, who would want to fish with a product that was a murky shade of green?

Nonetheless, being a good husband, I went ahead and prepared a sample batch for testing. To my surprise, the results were astonishing—we could hardly believe how effective it was. The Stinkgogga Boldip quickly soared to the top of the Top Sellers list within its first month. It has since become an essential item in every angler’s tackle box.

This success led to the creation of the Stinkgogga Floatie, which we launched at the end of May 2013. While your nose may not appreciate this product, it’s certainly a favorite among fish.

Oukous Floaties – Old school baits?

I fondly recall my childhood fishing adventures in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The familiar aroma of 1-2-3 pap cooking on the stove marked every trip.

My Dad would load our rucksack with curry pap, custard pap, brown bread, and Alvey reels, while we each held a flask of coffee. The unwritten rule was simple: carry as much as you can in one trip. We often parked some distance away from our fishing spots in the remote regions of Sandrivier in the Northern Free State, which made this rule essential; we only wanted to walk once.

Recently, reminiscing about those early days and the straightforward baits we used inspired me. A strong recommendation from Protea Angler, Barbara Conradie, led to the idea of creating Onion flavoured Floaties based on traditional bait principles.

We drew from this old-school approach by incorporating onion as an attractant. After sourcing various onion flavors and producing small test batches, we discovered a standout final product that truly delivered.

The results? An abundance of fish, particularly during winter, and on multiple occasions, these Floaties even outperformed the current top seller, Vampire Bleeding Floaties.
