The South African Sharptooth Catfish, commonly known as the Barbel, is the largest freshwater fish in South Africa and second in Africa only the Vundu.

With its wide mouth, it is possible for a Sharptooth Catfish to swallow rather large prey, feeding on dead and living animal matter. Some say they have the same sense of smell than that of a shark, if not better.

The Magic Baits Team developed a product containing different, High Attracting, Fish Oils that attracts the Sharptooth Catfish, seeing that they rely on their sense of smell to find food.

What is Chicken Blood?

Despite its name, 🩸𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗖𝗞𝗘𝗡 𝗕𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗗 🩸 is not a flavor; rather, it is a robust mixture of fish oils. The taste is significantly more pronounced than its aroma. Originally devised for catfish fishing, it is also highly effective for catching carp, tilapia, and muddies.

For Catfish: Use any meat bait such as fish heads, fish fillets, chicken hearts or liver, Platanna, day-old chicks, or worms, generously coated with Chicken Blood.

For Carp: Employ Chicken Blood Soft or Bleeding Floaties, enhanced with Chicken Blood over your feed ball.

For Muddies: Dip dough in Chicken Blood, or combine dough and Kariba worms both coated in Chicken Blood. Again, Chicken Blood Soft or Bleeding Floaties can be used with Chicken Blood over your feed ball.

For Tilapia: Similar to muddies, use dough dipped in Chicken Blood or combine dough and Kariba worms dipped in Chicken Blood. Chicken Blood Soft or Bleeding Floaties are also effective.
