“A confident mix of BGA Feed Booster, HeavyWeight Feed, and ready-made Yellow Sweet Dough helped Donavan Dreyer land 18 carp at Vaaldam — proof that Magic Baits keeps delivering where it matters most”
Donavan Dreyer
A session at Vaaldam, Lepelkop 2, landing a total of 18 carp during the day. I didn’t weigh any of them, but the action was consistent and the bites came steady throughout the session — exactly the kind of result I’ve come to expect when fishing with Magic Baits

For my setup, I fished two distinct combinations:

Rod 1: Twinkie Small Bleeding Floaties paired with Plain Yellow Sweet Dough, dipped in Twinkie Muti, and RPA Boldip on the ball.

Rod 2: HLX Mealie with Plain Yellow Sweet Dough and HLX Boldip on the ball.

Both rods were fed using Magic Baits HeavyWeight Feed, mixed with BGA Liquid Carp Food Feed Booster — my go-to combination for Vaaldam and river fishing.

I’ve got full confidence in BGA; it enriches the feed with a strong amino and protein profile that keeps the fish actively feeding. Time and again, it’s proven itself to pull carp into the swim and hold them there longer.

The Plain Yellow Sweet Dough once again showed its value. It’s incredibly easy to use — a convenient, pocket-sized ready-made dough that stays soft yet firm, perfectly sealing around the hookbait without breaking apart. It’s one of those baits you can rely on trip after trip because it lasts for months in its packaging and performs every time you need it.

I firmly believe that the white fluorescein released from the Twinkie Small Bleeding Floaties plays a big role in attracting carp. That subtle cloud effect in the water seems to trigger curiosity and feeding response even when the fish are cautious.

I built my traces with Magic Baits Wizard Quick-Set Hooks (size 2) and Wizard Gummy Stops (Medium) — a combination that ensures solid hook-ups and reliable presentation every time.
Once again, Magic Baits delivered a confident, consistent session at Vaaldam — proving why these baits and rigs have earned a permanent place in my tackle box.
