This past weekend, I decided to brave the icy chill along the Vaaldam. Our arrival on Saturday afternoon revealed a dam that was not only full but also alive with active fish in front of us.

With the rods set up, I chose to use the White Crusader Bleeding floatie, which has a strong clove scent, paired with a swd and a Cinnamon X Chooby’s backing.

For the bottom hook, the combination of the new SLOleak Magic Potion, featuring Caramel Creams and Wild Garlic, proved to be a successful strategy in the cold waters.

The size 2 Quick-set Wizard hooks provided a “solid hook set” on every catch, allowing us to land all our fish.

Most of the positive bites occurred at a distance of around 100-115 meters.

Although there was a bit of wind, I applied an extra spray of the SLOleak Wild Garlic to enhance the scent in the water, which quickly attracted the fish back to our lines.
